I have watched from afar (I am in Cape Town, South Africa) as Hurricane Katrina has hit and wounded America. I have watched fires spread through your country, and I have recently watched tornado's devastate the towns there. Each time I see one of these disasters and it's resultant devastation I wonder WHY you build wooden homes en mass?

And if you live in a wooden home, where would you store your stock of food in order to prevent it's being blown away by a tornado?

Thought provoking blog - thank you:-)

DaniDanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04020970904311512357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130417361623657526.post-18563636522841047392011-03-28T00:59:22.430-04:002011-03-28T00:59:22.430-04:00Thank you for the encouragement, Ellen. Keep it up in this vein and will continue to be great.
I also read the article about going to several wall marts to find carrots.
In the last 3 or 4 months they have been out of the instant potato's I buy for stocking up. And it seems they do not buy a lot for re-stocking.
They also have run out of canned chicken GV brand.
I have noticed that their shelves although not empty are sometimes sparse.
Have been so thankful that harder times haven't hit us in the head yet.
If people would do their grocery shopping the way they should it would include the 5 percent that you mentioned. But they tend to buy stuff that will be eaten in a flash and forget the staple's.
And I do not get this God will take care of me attitude. If they had listened he prabably told them to store up and they ignored it. I believe God enlightened my family and myself.
Well anyway sure enjoyed your page.Ellenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05541088934719121907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130417361623657526.post-30935190648971097992011-03-27T23:53:21.332-04:002011-03-27T23:53:21.332-04:00@Snapladylisa, thank you for the encouragement!@Snapladylisa, thank you for the encouragement!StockingUp.net: The Joseph Projecthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06301913113796935448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130417361623657526.post-51548951242755288872011-03-27T23:07:16.897-04:002011-03-27T23:07:16.897-04:00Thank you for this site! We have huge political and social problems in this country, but I firmly believe that the problems have come about through spiritual corruption that no amount of political changes can solve. The greed and apathy that are epidemic in Washington and across the country won't change until people stop being greedy and apathetic, and I think the Bible is clear that only Christ can change people's hearts--certainly I've seen that firsthand in my own life and in the lives of so many other of His followers.

I've done a bit of ranting myself the past few years, but I'm more interested in what it's going to take for Christ's followers to serve and love the people they're around every day, in their community and family. I'm grateful that the level of incompetence in Washington has become so painfully apparent that people are realizing that's not where our solutions lie. We can rant about how the "too big to fail" banks and other organizations and corporations are killing the small businessman and leading to soaring unemployment, hunger and general misery, but how many of us are helping feed our friends and family members with our own surplus? I could probably spend all day, every day going off on a rant about what's happening or not happening in D.C. and still not make a dent in the problem. But I'm much more interested (and think it's much more productive) to use this forum to encourage Christ's followers to serve and to show His love in the middle of a huge mess where there's not much love to go around. Jesus calls us to be salt and light to the world. I think we've got a huge opportunity right in front of us, right now. I hope we won't pass up this chance to serve and love others for Him.StockingUp.net: The Joseph Projecthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06301913113796935448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4130417361623657526.post-41333310717484708882011-03-27T00:14:45.701-04:002011-03-27T00:14:45.701-04:00I like your site.
